9000 plat isn’t the norm for anyone. I have 3 capped level 60 characters and nothing to spend my plat on except mounts and I’ve only ever barely managed to scrape together 300 plat once.

Granted, I probably have 80-120 plat on each of the 3 characters so could combine it all on one to have “more” but 9,000 at 51?!?!?!?!? No way is that normal.

I’m back to RIFT now that I have the remainder of the 30 days myself, and that it’s going F2P. I’m still annoyed that they changed my main character’s total soul compliment, but I like that they streamlined the intro, so I’m starting new this time around.

I rolled a Rogue (need to log in to find out what the class is actually called) on the Dragon server too. Didn’t expect too much from the game but I have to say that I’m having a blast. Lag was not great, but not a deal breaker either.

It’s definitely on my rotation of mmos at a time when a fair few of them have dropped off and been uninstalled.

My character is called Joliette, I’ll look you up some time.

I could not agree more. Wurm was priced just right and now it is all wrong. The sub plus the upkeep, plus the initial purchase price of the deed was right along the line of what I am willing to pay. Now I am torn between walking away for good and continuing to play simply because there are no other crafting MMO’s with this level of depth. Oh, I also wish Wurm were faster paced, which also does not make it feel worth the money. I would like to play Wurm straight up but unfortunately I always have to multitask. Wurm by itself is too slow and boring, but Wurm + HBOGo/Netflix is just right… Which if you think about, I’m also paying a sub for. Wurm is too expensive now.

Note that it’s just the quiver that’s selling for that much, not the pelts, the pelts are 30-40k each (the quiver takes two).

In thirteen and a half years, no small amount of which has been spent in North Karana, I have found precisely one High Quality Lion Skin. The last time I was there killing lions, however, was probably three or four years ago.

Looking at the Zam thread on the topic, (first comment April 2003, most recent comment March 2013) it would appear the drop rate was heavily increased at some point from mind-destroyingly insane to merely annoying. Several people over the last few years are quoting farmtime in hours rather than months or even years as it used to be. I might have to log in and have a go myself. I could do with 170k Plat.

I got on last night and ran the tutorials with a DC and a CW. Both were quite fun, and I can’t really say which I preferred. The DC was pretty nice simply rofl-stomping the lowbie mobs due to its self-heals, but the boss fights were far quicker with the CW since it has so many stuns even at a mere level 4. I had a fun night with it.
