Are You a Fan of Using Guides and WalkThroughs?

  1. My first thought was walk throughs for dungeon content. That I generally avoid. I like to know where I am going, a mildly vague map, and some hint of the danger, but the fun is figuring things out with your group.

    But some other things, such as EQ crafting, that I cannot imagine doing without a guide. Or could not imagine doing it back in the day. Now it is not so bad, what with built-in recipes and such.

    I like that they are there, in general for a hint or a helping hand when I am really stuck, but I try not to make them my first stop.

    It depends. I prefer to rely on in-game resources like quest text and guildmates first, but anytime something starts to go from fun to frustrating I have no problem heading to Google. I don’t play for a sens of achievement or accomplishment though, I play to unwind, to immerse myself in the setting, and to socialize.
