Don't let the dipthongs get you down, Stargrace!

Easier said than done, I know. Twice recently (in #lotro) I've needed to kill x of some humanoid that hangs out in a camp, and had a level 65 come in and plow through the (level 40ish) camp, wiping out every living thing. I know they're doing it to complete deeds but c'mon, if a level appropriate player is there, either go somewhere else, or at least invite them to a group so they can get credit.

Some people just have no courtesy, and for others (like @Akely) the competition is part of the fun and they're not being malicious about it. Everyone just assumes that the whole server shares their playstyle I guess. I think that's just human nature.

I have one completely different experience (sorta) with racing I'd like to share. I was once harvesting rocks with my Fury in Sinking Sands. All you EQ2 players know the place: along the wall along Orc Highway. There was another Fury there, almost the same level as me. All the mobs where grey to us so we could harvest along in peace. We started racing to beat each other to the rocks. We used every trick in the book: Pact of Cheetah, sprinting, clever use of the Carpets.

This went on for over half an hour. Never did he/she throw me an angry tell. And neither did I, of course. I found the whole thing quite funny. When I had to leave I /telled that I was leaving and wished him/her good luck. To my amazement the player thanked me for the good race and for "not being a dick about loosing so much". Needless to say we added each other to our friends list and still talk a little from time to time.
