I am looking forward to Sentinals Fate with a mixture of anticipation and dread. I also can't wait to play a "main" again for while for crafting and adventure. I am dreading the possibilty of SF being TSO:2.0. I really hope it feels different enough to be new as I really don't feel like grinding shards anymore.

I think it's exceedingly important to be able to make things your own in MMORPGs. I mean, your avatar is your virtual representation of yourself and the character you want to be. Nothing worse than being bland and common. I want my character (and his house) to be unique and distinct!

I'm really excited about the new expansion. Mostly because of the battlegrounds that I'm hearing about. I'm not really interested in the pve features. I like to pvp as much as possible, do some questing for AA when needed, craft to support my pvp addiction... and then add to my living quarters when I can. I don't have the patience to wait for 24 folks to get together for a raid.

I too love the flexibility of the game, and the opportunity it gives me to customize my character the way I want. I'm mostly talking Alternate Advancement points here, but the same goes for gear.

A friend brought up an interesting point though: He wondered how different people do AA spec their character. There should be "a best way", was his argument. I'm sure in a sense he is correct, but the question is "best way" for what? Soloing? Grouping? Defensive? Offensive?

Personally I find myself getting several Mirror of Reflective Achievements and having several different setups. Especially for characters that are hybrid in their nature, like the Fury which can be either a DPS'er or a Healer. (Granted a not very good DPS'er, but anyway.) My friends and mine different views in this matter probably stems from the fact that he is an achiever and I a socializer. He is primarily focused on "getting stuff done". I just fart about trying to have a good time.

Which proves the point: EQ2 is an excellent game when it comes to allowing for different play styles too. Not only character customization.

Great subject, kudos.
