I don’t get the whole comparison thing either. It’s not *just* epeen, I get that much, but I don’t think I’m competitive in the right ways to understand why people care so much about DPS or heal meters or whatever. As long as the raid gets done, isn’t that actually what matters? Maybe it isn’t, when you’ve been doing it for ages. (Again, dunno… I don’t raid.)

I will say, however, that I used to know a guy who needed to put others around him down in order to somehow make himself appear better, rather than just being a good guy to begin with (which he really wasn’t too far off being, that was the crying shame of it). It’s not behaviour that’s limited to MMOs, but it’s really obvious when it’s done in a primarily text-based medium, I think. Meh.
