The monthly fee requirement I think really gives the mentality of "I better play, or else I am just wasting money". Guild Wars does not add this pressure, and of all games, it seems the easiest to put aside. Good thing NCSoft still got their money which is cool. Of course, due to this mentality, Guild Wars gets "ignored" a lot as well. Sad really.
